Playing a “Rainbow” round of golf for a change the golfers showed up in force making it necessary to have two flights. A “Rainbow” competition is where the player’s have to play 6 holes off the back tees, 6 holes off the front tees and 6 holes off the middle tees (usually white) in any order and Stableford scoring method is used.

With the cut at handicap 13 newcomer Mike Anker (12) made a winning start by taking the honours in the A Flight, beating Alan Sullivan on a count back. Paul Smith came in third a point further back.

In the B FLight the scores weren’t so good but they enjoyed it just as much. Geoff Hart won ahead of Lawrence Harding who beat Gordon Melia on a count back.

Near pin prizes went to Gerry Cooney, John Graham, Paul Smith and Mike Anker.

A Flight:
1st Mike Anker (hcp 12) 35 points
2nd Alan Sullivan  (hcp 12) 35 points
3rd Paul Smith (hcp 3) 34 points

B Flight:
1st Geoff Hart (hcp 19) 32 points
2nd Lawrence Harding (hcp 21) 28 points
3rd Gordon Melia (hcp 15) 28 points

Playing Stableford at Khaow Kheow there was a count back to split the winners. Curiously, all the player’s in the frame played off handicap 12! Mashi beat William to win on the day and Tony Robbins claimed third place a couple of points further back.

This was the last game for the golfer of the month competition and William’s second place was enough for him to win the trophy for the month of October. Congratulations William!

John McDonald won two of the near pins with Mashi and John Hughes getting the other two.

Results:
1st Mashi Kaneta (hcp 12) 32 points
2nd William Macey (hcp 12) 32 points
3rd Tony Robbins (hcp 12) 30 points.

Mikito Homma playing his last game before returning to Japan turned in the best card of the day going round in three over par to win on a soggy, rain affected day. Mashi took second and Mick Benton came in third. The miserable scores all being blamed on the weather!

Only two par three’s were hit, so Mikito and Mick Benton shared the kitty between them.

Results:
1st Mikita Homma  (hcp 16) nett 75
2nd Mashi Kaneta  (hcp 12) nett 78
3rd Mick Benton (hcp 18) nett 79
