John Mac-back to winning ways

In the last two months that John McDonald has been playing his golf with the Bunker Boys he’s hardly had a look in but that all changed today.

Playing a Medal round with the course dry and hard and the putting surfaces always a challenge John had the best round of the day.

Winning the A Flight with a four under par 68, a massive seven shots ahead of runner up Tony Scambler, with Tony Robbins a further shot behind in third place.

Winning two near pin prizes as well John was back with a bang!

With the golfer of the month title being decided on this the last game of the month, “Skinny” Newton still had a chance to win it. But although he won the B Flight with a one under par round it wasn’t enough to catch Tony Scambler who’s second place in the A Flight made him February’s golfer of the month.

PJ Redmond came second in the B Flight and Geoff Hart took third.

The best Stableford round of golf today came in the B Flight where Brian Cromblethorpe won with 39 points two points ahead of runner up Lawrence Harding.Bernie Stevens beat PJ Redmond on a count back to take third place.

With the cut at handicap 16 it was close in the A Flight but it was Tony Scambler who came out on top beating Gary Austin. Gary had another good game of golf losing out by just one point and Paul Buckland was two points further back.

This win puts Tony in pole position for the golfer of the month award with Skinny breathing down his neck after his win on Monday.

Winning smile from Tom Jones

Back in Thailand on another fleeting visit Gary Austin immediately got into his stride.Playing stroke play and with the cut at handicap 19, Gary won the A Flight with a level par round.

Geoff Parker beat Gordon Melia on a count back to sneak into second place.

Tom Jones must have had his “thinking” hat on again as he took the honours in the B Flight with a two over par round.

Mike Corner came runner up one shot behind and Don McPherson took third place one shot further back.
