Golf Sunset
It’s not like anything you would have experienced before! Driving out to the Golf Course of your choice, with the Sun shining in a cloudless light blue sky. On one side of the road the crystal clear turquoise waters of the sea shimmers beyond palm-fringed powder-fine sandy beaches, on the other side rough-hewn mountains rise dramatically in the distance through lush tropical vegetation as elephants lazily make their way along the side of the road. You are in Thailand playing golf and there is no comparison!
There are around 20 championship standard courses within 45 minutes of Pattaya designed by the very best architects and designers like Nick Faldo, Robert Trent Jones and Jack Nicklaus. Clubhouse facilities are excellent with everything you need including fine restaurants, swimming pools, massage facilities, shower and locker rooms.
Quite simply, golfing in Pattaya is a match for anywhere in the world at a fraction of the cost with each course offering a great experience for golfer’s of all abilities and you don’r even need a handicap certificate! So, whether you are a low handicap golfer who enjoys a challenge or a complete novice there is no better place to play!
Golfing with The Bunker Boy’s
Our golf tournaments are open to all golfer’s who have a current valid handicap, this may be a handicap obtained locally with the Pattaya Sports Club (PSC) which we are affiliated to or from the IPGC Golf Society. Alternatively you may provide proof of your official handicap from your home golf club. If you do not possess any of these you can obtain a local official handicap by joining the Pattaya Sports Club (PSC) which we strongly recommend, and play five games with a recognised golf venue like The Bunker Bar. PSC membership costs 600 Baht for one year or 2000 Baht for six years.
The PSC has over 30,000 members and is the longest established sports club in the city. Once a member, besides being able to obtain a golf handicap, members can take advantage of the many discounts available at several restaurants, bars and shops that are associated with the PSC. Joining the PSC also gives a member the excellent ‘Member Guest’ rates at all the golf courses in the region (see ‘PATTAYA GREEN FEES).
The Bunker Boy’s play three times a week on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s and usually have anywhere between 12 to 24 golfer’s playing in the low season and 24 to 48 golfer’s in the high season. Tournament entry fees and transport fees are paid upon registration in the bar on the morning of the tournament. The fees are 200 Baht for the golf tournament (this consists of 50 Baht for the ‘Near Pin’ competition and 150 Baht for the Stableford/Medal competition) and 200 Baht for transport costs – transport is provided by private vehicles and/or minibus. All competition fees collected are paid out in prizes at the presentation in the Bunker Bar after the game.
