What started out as a lovely day for golf, weather wise, turned into a washout when the heaven’s opened about half way around the course and the game had to be abandoned. This proved to be a bonus for the Ban Chang pub owners as the Bunker Boy’s had to spend the afternoon frequenting their fine establishments all afternoon!      (TIT!)

Royal Lakeside

 

The long drive to this lovely course is always worth it and Paul Smith certainly didn’t suffer from it as he won with a fantastic six under par nett 64 to take the A Flight. Dave Dolle had a good sub par round to take the runner up spot and, with the cut set at handicap 17 Lee Butler found himself in the A Flight and managed to take the third place. This course is one of Tom Jones’ favourite courses and it showed in his game today, Tom won the B Flight with a two under par round, Mike Corner was a shot behind and Jack Robertson came third a couple of shots further back.

1^st Paul Smith                           (hcp 4) nett 64

2^nd Dave Dolle                         (hcp 12) nett 69

3^rd Lee Butler                           (hcp 17) nett 70

B Flight:

1^st Tom Jones                              (hcp 24) nett 70

2^nd Mike Corner                         (hcp 20) nett 71

3^rd Jack Robertson                   (hcp 24) nett 73

Near Pin Winners – Lee Butler, Gordon Melia and Dave Dolle won the other two.

Rayong CC

 

The condition of the course at Rayong Country Club is improving little by little and is still great value for money. In two flights with the cut set at handicap 15 Alan Harris had the best round of the day to win the A Flight a shot ahead of William who, in turn, was a point ahead of Paul Smith who beat JJ on a count back to take third place. It was close in the B Flight too where Geoff Hart won by a point ahead of Skinny who again was one point ahead of John Hughes who beat Mike Corner on a count back!

3^rd John Hughes                      (hcp 16) 33 points
