The greens were unusually fast here at Emerald today making scoring pretty difficult as nobody broke par. The best score to come in to the clubhouse was from Gordon Melia who’s one over par was enough to win the A Flight, Colin Greig took second place a couple of shots back and Gerry Cooney came third a couple of shots further back. The cut was set at handicap 14 and Geoff Parker beat Geoff Hart on a count back to take the honours in the B Flight. The was a count back for third place too, Roger Privett just edging out Ken Ellery to steal third place!

Treasure Hill

Another journey north saw the Bunker Boy’s take on the challenging Treasure Hill and this course being just up the Soi from Greenwood, it too was in great shape. In a single flight we saw John Graham have another good round to win on a count back from ‘Skinny” Newton in second place. There was a count back for the next places where Geoff Parker took third place, Koji Yamada nicked fourth place and Gerry Cooney lost out altogether having had a poor back nine.

Results:

1st John Graham                      (hcp 13) 33 points

2nd ‘Skinny’ Newton               (hcp 28) 33 points

3rd Geoff Parker                       (hcp 17) 32 points

4th Koji Yamada                      (hcp 16) 32 points.

Near Pin Winners – Only three hit (as usual) John Graham, Mashi and Koji.
