Mashi - Twice a winner this week!

Eastern Star

We haven’t visited Eastern Star for some time because of the poor condition of the course but we found it to be much improved with the fairways especially in great condition. Some of the Bunker Boy’s were supporting the PSC Monthly competition so we had a single flight today. Playing a Medal round there was a count back to decide the winner, both Paul Smith and Gerry Cooney had a level par round, Paul nicking it on the count back with Gordon Melia coming in third just one shot behind.

2^nd Gerry Cooney                    (hcp 12) nett 72

3^rd Gordon Melia                     (hcp 15) nett 73

 Near Pin Winners – On her last game before returning to the UK Marion Melia won two near pin prizes making a nice farewell present, the other two went to Frank Dante and Paul Smith.

 

Wednesday 11th November 2009

Pattana 

After some confusion and negotiation over the green fee on arrival (but eventually resolved) we were ready to tee off! (Note: non PSC members or members without their card will be financially penalized with a much more expensive green fee as one unlucky player discovered!) We played A & B nines and the greens on the A course were in poor condition and very slow but were much better on the B course. Another good turn out for Pattana and ‘Mashi San’ was on form again scoring 40 Stableford points to win the A Flight in a canter. A count back was needed to separate Geoff Parker and JJ Harney, Geoff having the better back nine to claim the runner up spot. Eddy Kelly scored even more points than Mashi to win the B Flight by a massive eight points ahead of Reg Smart and a very surprised Ken Young took the third place.

1^st Eddy Kelly                          (hcp 17) 41 points

3^rd Ken Young                         (hcp 28) 29 points

Monday 9th November 2009

Bang Pra 

A good turnout for Bang Pra saw ‘Mashi San’ win the A Flight with the best round of the day winning with a one under par round. William beat Gordon Melia on a count back to take the runner up spot, both finishing two over. In the B Flight Jack Gayer made a winning return to Thailand beating Bernie Stevens by a shot and Mike Corner finished third a couple of shots behind.
